Let’s start by addressing what search engine optimization (SEO) is and what it does as per Wikipedia:

“Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a web search engine’s unpaid results—often referred to as “natural”, “organic”, or “earned” results.”

Ok, so the simplified version of that in terms of business language is that search engine optimization is the strategy to help your website rank higher in search engines, ultimately leading to more traffic to your website and greater potential of converting customers.

Now that we’ve covered what search engine optimization (SEO) is, let’s talk about what Artrageous is doing to help customers get better search results; real results, including that we do it for our own website so we can lead by example.

Approximately 3 months ago we were approach by a local self storage facility that was in need of marketing to attract more business as they were operating at 20% usage capacity. They are a new facility and needed to get customers to their doors quickly. After a consultation Artrageous recommended that based on their budget the most effective digital marketing approach would be to focus on SEO.

We determined what the best search terms were for their business, researched keyword volumes, competitors analysis and finally a rankings audit to initiate the best SEO strategy. What we found 90 days ago was that for the largest volume search term they were ranking 100th in google’s organic search. Basically their business didn’t exist! I could go over all the things we did, but that would bore most people, so let’s just fast forward to today…

In just 90 days, our search engine optimization strategy took their business from 100th to 3rd position on just that keyword alone, effectively moving them up the rankings by 97 positions! In total with a combination of keywords we have helped their business move a total of 167 positions in google’s organic search results.

But let me guess, you’re probably thinking “that’s great and all, but what did that do for their business in terms of traffic and revenue?” Well, remember how when we started they were operating at around 20% capacity? Now they are operating at 52% capacity and growing everyday! With the combination of better search results and internal referrals, their business in 90 days more than doubled. We have a great relationship with the client and continue to perform digital marketing strategies to keep their business growing.

Yes, that’s right. How can we possibly offer this service to our customers if we as a business can’t showcase that we do it for our business as well?

Mechanics are always busy working on clients vehicles often not allowing time to work on their own. In our industry we were going about business the same way; working for our customer but not doing the required work on our own site to prove what we could do.

We developed a new website that was focused on the core items we wanted to focus on and all of the content needed to be tailored to the areas we wanted to succeed with online in order to generate more traffic and more leads. On May 1st, 2017 we launched our new website and put in place our SEO strategy. Since then, we have move up in google rankings by a total of 347 positions between google desktop and google mobile!

Our site ranks #1 in our geographic area for the keyword “advertising” and we rank #2 for the keyword “marketing”. We also now rank between 4th and 14th on another handful of keywords including “graphic design” and “web design” to name a couple.

We are still not where we want to be on some keyword terms but we work every month to continue to enhance our performance. SEO is a living, breathing thing that never stops changing and adjusting. It requires continuous monitoring and strategizing and that is what we are doing for ourselves as well as the customers we have to opportunity to work with.
