Bill Pomeroy

Owner (Artrageous North Shore)

Framing Experience

Bill started framing in 1985 during high school working on weekends in a local Richmond frame shop. After two years of college and working as a draftsman for various companies he went back into framing after getting hired at  Osterson’s on the North Shore in 1990. After 10 years there he went out on his own and acquired Artrageous on the Drive in 2000. When the owners of Ostersons decided to retire in August of 2013 it offered Bill the opportunity to come full circle by purchasing the store where his career began in the community he calls home.

Now in their second year of ownership at Ostersons, Bill and Pam feel its time to give the business a fresh new name, new look and new art to match its sister store in East Van. The response from customers has been great! So after 30 years of successful business, and still going strong, we say goodbye to the name Ostersons and hello to the new North Shore Artrageous Pictures & Framing!

Artistic Practice

Bill is a talented photographer, with many people responding to his sweeping panoramic images of Burrard Inlet in particular. He also takes photographs around the world when traveling with his family as well as around the Lower Mainland when he has time. We have greeting cards of Bill’s photography in the store and they are exclusive to Artrageous. Prints of selected works are available in the store and upon request.

Pamela Pomeroy

Owner & Designer (Artrageous Vancouver)

Pamela personally selects all of the cards and gifts that we are so well known for. She is always on the lookout for new and interesting items for the store. She purchases cards directly from local card artists whenever possible, and graciously gives feedback to new artists just starting out when they ask for her help. She also designs our Artrageous exclusive line of jewelry, Beadazzled. Her bracelets are especially sought for their unusual combinations of textures. Pam is willing to do alterations of the Beadazzled line and custom pieces upon request.

Lead Design Consultant & Framer (Artrageous Vancouver)

Framing Experience

Kamila started her framing career more than a decade ago, and joined the Artrageous team in 2014. While she has worked at several frame shops, she really honed her design and consulting skills at a high end shop in Toronto’s vibrant Annex. While an excellent framer all-around, design is where Kamila truly shines. Her sense of proportion is unparalleled, and she has an uncanny ability to pair works with interesting frames which add to, rather than detract from, the work itself. Put your trust in her, and you will have a beautifully framed piece you will enjoy for years to come. We feel very fortunate to have gained her enthusiasm and impressive design skills and she has quickly become an integral part of the Artrageous team.

Artistic Practice & Education

Kamila studied Fine Arts at Capilano University, North Vancouver B.C, and later continued her studies at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec where she completed her B.F.A. She then completed one year of Digital Media at Seneca College in Toronto, Ontario. Her work encompasses both traditional forms (painting, drawing, and sculpture) as well as multimedia explorations. Her work explores heavily the complexities of human condition and psychology. She aims at unveiling the intricate web of layers that together form an individual and their psyche. Kamila’s work has been featured in numerous shows and also brought her first prize at the annual juried exhibition at City-scape Gallery in North Vancouver. She transfers her impressive design skills to all aspects of her artistic practice.

Framer & Design Consultant (Artrageous North Shore)

Framing Experience

Lucia began her framing career in 1997, and joined the Artrageous team in 2013 after working at several shops on the North Shore. Her patience and experience result in precisely executed pieces, while her problem solving skills allow for well crafted, secure mounting and framing of objects and textiles.  Her shadowbox pieces often resemble modern museum displays.

Artistic Practice & Education

Lucia graduated from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, giving her an excellent grounding in artistic practice and art appreciation.
